The Toronto Raptors have signed 7-foot-5 centre Jamarion Sharp, the team announced Monday. Guard Chucky Hepburn was waived to open a roster spot, according to TSN.

Sharp was named the 2025-26 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year after emerging as one of the league’s most productive rim protectors with the Texas Legends. In 25 regular-season appearances, he averaged 7.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and a league-leading 3.8 blocks in 24.9 minutes per game while shooting 73.5 percent from the field.

Including the G League Tip-Off Tournament, Sharp appeared in 39 games during the 2025-26 campaign and averaged approximately 7.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.9 blocks in 25.1 minutes per contest. He recorded a season-high nine blocks against the Oklahoma City Blue.

The 25-year-old went undrafted in 2024 after playing two seasons at John A. Logan College, two at Western Kentucky and one at Ole Miss. Sharp led NCAA Division I in blocks per game during both of his seasons at Western Kentucky before averaging 2.4 blocks in just 15.8 minutes per game for Ole Miss in 2023-24.

Sharp also has some familiarity with the organization. He appeared in five games for Toronto during the 2026 NBA Summer League, averaging 7.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.8 blocks in only 18.2 minutes per game. He later signed a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers but was waived before training camp.

Hepburn spent the previous season on a two-way contract with Toronto. The guard suffered a hamstring injury during the Raptors’ preseason victory over the Clippers on Saturday before being waived as part of Monday’s roster move.hoopsrumors+1

Toronto has three preseason games remaining. The Raptors host the New York Knicks on October 13 before visiting the Knicks on October 15 and the Detroit Pistons on October 16. They will begin the regular season at home against the Chicago Bulls on October 21.
